Pricing

Priced by the quoting you do.

Never per seat. Never a share of what you invoice. And never a reason to stop quoting.

What the money buys

You're buying the price, not the paperwork.

Cerrax isn't your accounts package, and it isn't metered like software that is. At its heart is an engine that prices a job from the job — the same way every time, whoever is quoting, with its working open to inspection. Around it: your inquiries and customer records, your schedule, the crew on their phones, and a feed into the calendar you already use. It can take the deposit and the balance by card, and it exports your jobs for your accountant.

So the meter runs on the thing you're actually here for. Not how many people you sit in front of it. Not a slice of the money your customer pays you. The quoting you do.

How the meter works

One monthly figure, set by how much quoting you do.

The band is the unit

You sit on a monthly band of quotes and quote freely inside it. Nothing meters you job by job, so nobody in your office has to wonder whether a quote is worth running.

Re-pricing is free

Change the access, try a different crew, run the same job again next week. Only a distinct job counts — a second look at one you've already priced never does.

Everyone can use it

Put your whole team on it — office, surveyors, whoever answers the phone at seven on a Sunday. Headcount isn't what you pay for, so it isn't what you ration.

A busy month is never a wall

Go past your band and the next quote still prices. We'll say so, and you can move up if it's worth it — but the price always comes out. A pricing tool that refuses to price is not a pricing tool.

What we will never charge you for

Three things that are not on the bill, and never will be.

Never

A percentage of the job

We don't take a cut of what your customer pays you. Your invoice is yours, whole — and a firm that wins bigger work shouldn't owe its software more for it.

Never

A charge per person

Per-seat pricing quietly decides who is allowed to quote. Consistent pricing only works if everyone who quotes is on it, so we don't price the thing that stops them being.

Never

A penalty for leaving

Month to month. Your quotes, your data and the calibration work are yours to take with you. Leaving is never made expensive.

More than that — let's talk. Prices are in US dollars and before any sales tax. Cerrax is not registered to collect sales tax in any US state today, so none is added to your bill; if we register in a state where our service is taxable, we will add that state's tax at checkout as a separate line and tell you first. Month to month — no contract, no setup fee, no minimum term.

Why these are the keenest terms we'll ever offer.

We're setting these while the engine calibrates on real jobs from real firms. That work is worth more to us than the subscription is — so the firms doing it with us get a rate we won't repeat, and they keep it. When general pricing arrives it will be higher. Founding firms won't move.

We'd rather say that plainly than dress an early price up as a permanent one.

What “calibrates” means: your rates are yours from your first quote. What the engine is still learning is how long your jobs really take. Once you have recorded around twenty finished jobs it starts proposing corrections, and you approve each one. Until then, every price says so.

API licensing for platforms is a conversation rather than a rate card — the shape of the deal depends on what you're building.

Trying it

Three months free. Every job.

Not a handful of quotes — three months of the whole thing. Long enough to price a job, win it, do the move and tell us what you actually invoiced, which is the only way to find out whether the number was right for your firm.

You price your first job in minutes, no card. Nothing is taken away at the end — your quotes, your rates and your history stay exactly where they are.

A third-floor walk-up in Chicago's Lincoln Park moving up I-94 to Milwaukee: a box truck, a crew of three, no elevator, and a parking permit to hold the curb on a busy street. Cerrax prices it from the cube in cubic feet, the interstate miles and the time three flights of stairs add — the crew's hours line by line.

The vehicles it plans with here:

  • Cargo van (246 cu ft)
  • 15-ft box truck (764 cu ft)
  • 20-ft box truck (1,016 cu ft)
  • 26-ft box truck (1,682 cu ft)
