How Cerrax prices from the job
Nothing here is a guess at what the market will bear. The price is built up from the work, in this order:
Volume
The size of the home becomes a volume to move, in cubic metres, from a governed list of what a home that size holds.
Distance
The road distance between the two addresses, in miles, measured rather than estimated — plus the run out from the yard and back.
Access
Stairs with no lift, a long carry, difficult parking: each one adds real time to loading and unloading, so each one adds to the day.
Crew and vans
The volume decides how many vans and how many trips. The work decides how many people and how many days, inside the driving rules.
Time, then price
The hours are charged at the firm's own rates, with the mileage and materials added. Every line traces to an hour, and every hour to a fact about the job.

Is it free?
Yes. Checking a job costs nothing and needs no account. If you check a lot of jobs in one day, we'll ask you to sign up — also free — to keep going.
Is this my price or yours?
Neither, until you make it yours. The first figure is at reference rates, calibrated to no firm. Put in your own rates, vans and base and it reprices with your numbers — the method stays the same.
What do you store?
If you tell us your rates, your price or how long the job would take, we keep them anonymously to improve Cerrax's pricing. Never your name, email or full address — addresses are cut down to their area. You can untick sharing before you reprice.
How accurate is it?
As accurate as the facts it is given, and it says how sure it is: every figure comes with a range and a confidence. Amounts are rounded here; inside Cerrax a firm's own quotes are exact to the penny.
Can I use my own rates?
Yes. After the first figure, add your depot, your hourly rates, your vans and how long your crew would take, then reprice. Sign up and they are saved for every job.
How is it different from my software?
Most removals software records the price you type in. Cerrax works the price out from the job, so the same job gets the same price whoever quotes it — and you can see why.
